RIM ANNOUNCES IT'S FIRST BLACKBERRY 10 DEVICES

Thorsten Heins, CEO of BlackBerry smartphones introduces the new Z10 (left) and Q10 (right)

RIM announced on Tuesday at an event in New York, the first two devices equipped with its new operating system, BlackBerry 10. The Z10 is a smartphone "Full Touch", equipped with a screen of 4.2 ". Already Q10 follows the line of the traditional devices company with a physical keyboard and a screen" square "of 3.1 inches.

The new OS has a gesture-based interface and true multitasking. Integrates with social networks, like Facebook, allows you to define multiple profiles for the same user and brings a web browser amazingly fast and natural.

The BlackBerry Messenger, messaging system that is one of the most popular features of the platform has been enhanced and now allows video calling and screen sharing. And special attention was dedicated to the virtual keyboard on the Z10, which according to the company's CEO, Thorsten Heins, is "the best in the market."

As the operating system for tablet PlayBook, BlackBerry 10 is based on QNX, an operating system multi-task real-time which was acquired by RIM in 2011.

The company also announced a name change. Instead of Research In Motion as it's already known since 1984, it will be known as BlackBerry Ltd . According to Heins users already buy smartphones "BlackBerry's", and employees work "for BlackBerry", therefore adoption of the name product that made the company famous is something natural.

The BlackBerry Z10 will be available in the UK markets tomorrow, in Canada on February 5, and in the U.S. from March. Prices will vary by market and operator, but according to the CEO of BlackBerry in Canada the Z10 will cost about $150. Pricing and release date have not been informed of the Q10.

I had a blackberry torch 9850 before this iphone 4s I got now. (don't really like the i5). Anyway, I really liked the phone. Clear screen, took good pics. Had a LOT ofeatures that I like over the istuff. I like removable battery. I like changeable memory. I like the ability to play different video types that Istuff won't. I'm going to take a look at this new blackberry phone. I'm really just not that impressed with iphones. I don't like the limitations they force on you and never mind using itunes for file management HORRIBLE!!
